About me

The world of signal processing, a product from the marriage of engineering and mathematics, has uncountable words for Nattapol Aunsri, PhD, lecturer in the School of Information Technology at MFU, whose work demonstrates number of ways in which mathematics explains phenomena. As an engineer and a mathematician, he merges mathematical and statistical models in deriving algorithms to detect the embedded information that is silently hidden in the data he is measuring; and estimate or extract the parameters that are critical to the success of revealing the solution of the physical phenomena. From his current signal processing research, Aunsri can exhibit the full frequency content of underwater acoustics which leads us to effectively estimate parameters that are of utmost importance in environmental studies, climate monitoring, and defense. In addition, several signal processing problems are still under investigation with his colleagues including eye gazing system, drug-drug interactions via machine learning and data processing algorithm, frequency tracking, and seismic signal processing.

Research Interests:

Sequential Bayesian filtering (sequential Monte Carlo methods), frequency estimation, parameter estimation, statistical signal processing, ocean acoustic signal processing, time-series analysis, mathematical and statistical modelling.

Currently, he is also working on healthcare informatics and biomedical signal processing: Drug-drug interactions (DDIs), x-ray image analysis, and eye-gazing system.
